Description

This wadi contributes to increasing biodiversity. Greater biodiversity is not only beautiful, but also useful and necessary for us and our environment. For example, insects are needed to pollinate our food and birds help to combat mosquitoes and the oak processionary caterpillar. All plants in and around the wadi are indigenous, which means that they belong here and were also found in the past. The plants provide a habitat for insects, birds and small mammals such as hedgehogs. These find food here and they can hide and reproduce. The development of this piece of nature takes time. It takes about three to five years for the plants to reach maturity.
