Wadi Kershage - Vlissingen

Description

The Claverveld project was designed by the municipality of Vlissingen in co-creation with local residents. The wadi located in the Kershage has the function of retaining rainwater and allowing it to infiltrate into the ground. The wadi is a construction located in the central reservation of the main route and is connected to the water-permeable pavement in the subroutes. Claverveld is a new housing estate that has been designed to be climate proof. Apart from permeable pavement and parking places, the wadi is a Green Blue solution which offers the capacity of approximately 200 m3 of rainwater. This project is part of EU-Interreg 2 Seas Mers Zeeën Co-Adapt. Co-Adapt develops, tests and realises methods for the co-creation of measures based on natural processes. This increases the climate adaptive capacity.

Samenvatting (Dutch description)

Het project Claverveld door de gemeente Vlissingen in co-creatie de buurtbewoners ontworpen. De wadi gelegen in de Kershage heeft als functie het vasthouden van hemelwater en het in de grond te laten infiltreren. De wadi is als constructie gelegen in de middenberm van de hoofdroute en verbonden is met de waterdoorlatende bestrating in de subroutes. Claverveld is een nieuwbouw wijk dat klimaat bestendig is ingericht. Buitenom waterdoorlatende bestrating en parkeerplaatsen, is de wadi een Groenblauw oplossing die de mogelijkheid biedt van ca. 200 m3 hemelwater. Dit project maakt deel uit van EU-Interreg 2 Seas Mers Zeeën Co-Adapt. Co-Adapt ontwikkeld, test en realiseerd methodes voor de co-creatie van maatregelen die gebaseerd zijn op natuurlijke processen. Hiermee wordt het klimaatadaptievevermogen verhoogd.
