Kelmarna Gardens is an organic community farm in Ponsonby, central Auckland. Hukanui Reserve above Ōpoutūteka Cox's Creek. Kelmarna Garden, the ideal of this garden was to include a farming operation which serves multiple purposes, forming the basis of their education and therapeutic programmes, and generating income over to cover the cost of what they are providing for the local people. How this work was, they thought through rebuilding connection between people and the food to demonstrates a regenerative local food system that supports climate change mitigation, urban resilience, and the community wellbeing. The outcome was to demonstrate diverse models of regenerative agriculture, produce an abundance of food, create meaningful jobs, train future farmers, and much more.
