Stormwater on Private Property

Rainwater Harvesting

Water Demand (conservation) Management

Created at: 08 Feb 2019

Description

This development makes use of rainwater harvesting by directing it into a concrete storage tank in the lowest basement where it is filtered, cleared and used for the flushing of toilets and urinals throughout the building. To further reduce water consumption, there are flow restrictors on water fittings and the toilets are water efficient. The water consumption is metered to enable the building management system. The fire protection system is designed to not expel any water water during testing by redirecting it into the storage tanks. The use of air cooled chillers help to further reduce water consumption. The combination of all these measures reduce the building's potable water consumption by 90%. The storm water is also managed with the aim at limiting the disruption of natural hydrology, pollution and site deterioration.
