Description

Unique arched floodgate to protect the city of Osaka, Japan from typhoons and stormsurges. Was established in 1970 as a response to multipe stormsurges that resulted in heavy damage. Is based on a Dutch design for flood barriers. A similar one can be found in the Ajigawa river.
