Description
This beachhead was designed to withstand higher water levels, without raising the historical dyke. This way, the water level in the IJssel Lake can be raised for water storage, without compromising safety. The beachhead creates a lagune between itself and the dyke to create a breeding ground for fish. The beach itself creates a much needed recreation space for the inhabitants of Hoorn.
