Maple Garden Taichung

Watersquare (waterplein)

Created at: 06 Feb 2018

450x400m park with a depth up to 9m. originally designed as parking garage for a highrise development, but as the hole was dug, it does create (un)intentionally? enormous water retention, which may be needed for Typhoons. Due Typhoons rain can accumulate meters in just a few days (Morakot 2009; 2.770mm; Herb 2006; 1.700mm). estimated capacity of storm water retention is 800.000m3; this is massive compared to the 'famous' Rotterdam waterplein with 1.700m3.

Samenvatting (Dutch description)

waterplein 500x groter dan in rotterdam
