Description

The waterquality was measured during the ClimateCafé GREEN on March 5th 2023. Students from the Hanze University of Applied Sciences and Saxion University of Applied Sciences conducted waterquality tests with the help of waterquality test strips. In addition, oranoleptic and colorimetric methods were used to show the waterquality. Samples were taken from the shore (surface water) and from underwater (5 meters and 15 meters). After the first measurements, filtration of the sample was encourages to see if the measurements would change.

Analysis: pH levels: Generally acceptable Chlorine: Absence, no indication of contamination by disinfection products Total Hardness: Acceptable ranges for freshwater systems Alkalinity: Acceptable ranges for freshwater systems (decrease after filtration is noteworthy) Iron: Sample from 15 meter depth shows slightly elevated level. Further monitoring advised Nitrate Nitrogen: Normal range for freshwater Phosphates: Acceptable range, slight increase at 15 meters should be monitored

Samenvatting (Dutch description)

De waterkwaliteit werd gemeten tijdens het ClimateCafé GREEN op 5 maart 2023. Studenten van de Hanzehogeschool en Saxion Hogeschool voerden waterkwaliteitstests uit met behulp van teststrips. Daarnaast werden organoleptische en colorimetrische methoden gebruikt om de waterkwaliteit te beoordelen. Monsters werden genomen vanaf de oever (oppervlaktewater) en van onder water (op 5 meter en 15 meter diepte). Na de eerste metingen werd het filteren van het monster aangemoedigd om te zien of de metingen zouden veranderen.
